Mr. Swearngan received his B.S. degree in Accounting from the  University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1996.  While in school, he was invited to join Beta Alpha Psi, an accounting national honor society, and Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.  Mr. Swearngan has lived in the Charlotte area his entire life.  He worked his way through college to pursue his education and a career in accounting.

Mr. Swearngan joined Moyer, Smith & Roller, P.A. in January of 1997.  He is involved in the firm’s accounting and tax practice and is also the network administrator for the firms offices.  In January of 2003, Mr. Swearngan became a partner in the firm.  He has considerable experience in construction, manufacturing, franchising, mortgage banking, not-for-profit entities and retirement communities.  He advises clients on internal control and tax planning matters.  In addition, he currently oversees the implementation of Client Bookkeeping Solutions.

Mr. Swearngan has been involved in the community in several ways.  He has served as treasurer and board member of the Kiwanis Club of Lake Norman.  He has served for several years as a Cub Scout Den Leader with Pack 777.  He is the Aquatics Director for the Hornets Nest District Day Camp and serves on the Aquatics Committee for the Mecklenburg County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  He completed the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Lake Norman course in 2004.  He is also a member of the American Institute of CPA’s as well as the North Carolina Association of CPA’s.
